METRO Cash & Carry donates for flood victims

LAHORE (PR) - Many parts of Pakistan are hit by catastrophic floods where reportedly thousands of people have died and millions became homeless. Pakistan is deeply affected by this wreckage and tragedy which is reported worst than 2004 tsunami by UN. Understandably in such a sad state, Pakistan deserved all the needed help to share the burden. METRO Cash & Carry Pakistan has always stood beside the Government of Pakistan in the hour of need like in the past disasters caused by earthquakes that hit the country in 2005 and 2008. Being in the food business, MCCPK recognised this disaster at a very early stage. Living up to our Corporate Social Responsibilities, under its Care and Share Programme, Giovanni Soranzo, Managing Director, METRO Cash & Carry Pakistan, handed over the first consignment of food supplies of essential items for flood affectees to Muzafargarh and Nowshehra on 3rd of August, 2010. The total package of over all much needed food supplies of essential items encompassed 5,000 effected families to tide over their basic needs for a period of two weeks.
