LAHORE Dacoits on Saturday hit the City 15 times, looted four houses and made off with gold ornaments and other valuables besides a car and a motorcycle, police said. Three armed bandits barged into the house (No 7 Street 11) of M Jameel in Sundar police area while all the family members were asleep. The robbers held them up at gunpoint, locked the inmates inside a room and fled away after collecting cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 700,000. Five dacoits equipped with automatic weapons forced their entry into the house of Babar Ali in Johar Town police area and escaped after collecting, cash, gold ornaments, prize bonds and foreign currency worth Rs 2 million at gunpoint. Three armed bandits stormed into the house of Muhammad Irfan in Manawan police vicinity. The bandits after holding the inmates hostage at gunpoint, collected cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs one million and fled away from the crime scene without facing any resistance. Three robbers burst into the house of Majid Ali in Wahdat Colony police area and fled away after snatching cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 300,000 at gunpoint. Iftikhar Ali told the Defense-A police that his driver was sitting in his car outside the residence when three robbers, riding in a car, appeared there. They held him up at gunpoint and drove away his Honda-Civic car. The police have registered the case and are investigating. Meanwhile, M Arshad was on his way to a nearby market when two motorcyclists intercepted him in Liaqatabad. He was deprived of cash and valuables worth Rs 85,000 at gunpoint. Two more gunmen held up Muhammad Haroon in Awan Town, the vicinity of Sabzazar police and snatched away cash and valuables worth Rs 75,000. The police are investigating. Robbers deprived Riasat Ali of cash and valuables worth Rs 30,000 from Shahdra police area while bandits looted cash and valuables worth Rs 40,000 from Kashif from Nawan Kot police vicinity. A car-rider Rahman along with his wife was on his way home when two gunmen intercepted him in Satu Katla police area. The couple was deprived of cash and valuables worth Rs 110,000 at gunpoint.
