ISLAMABAD - The Judicial Commission of Pakistan in its meeting on Saturday recommended to confirm the services of three additional judges of Lahore High Court (LHC) and four judges of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) and referred the matter to parliamentary committee for approval. Three additional judges, whose names have been recommended by the commission for permanent appointment for Lahore High Court, include Justice Saghir Ahmed Qadri, Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan and Justice Khawaja Imtiaz, while four additional judges of the Peshawar High Court include Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, Justice Attaullah Khan, Justice Miftah-ud-Din Khan and Justice Mian Fasih-ul-Mulk. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry presided over the meeting, which was participated by Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Justice Nasir ul Mulk and Justice Sair Ali of the Supreme Court, LHC Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry, PHC Chief Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq, Federal Law Minister Maula Bakhsh Chandio, Pakistan Bar Council member Dr Khalid Ranjha and Justice (Retd) Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry whereas Punjab Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah Khan and KP Law Minister Barrister Arshad Abdullah also participated in the meeting. The judicial commission was constituted under the 18th Amendment for making appointments in the superior judiciary.
