Opened RHC, GRDs still non-functional

WAZIRABAD - Newly established one Rural Health Centre and 12 general rural dispensaries at completed at a cost of Rs50 million under MNA grant are devoid of electricity, furniture and medicines. However, the staff is getting salaries sitting idle at their homes.
The RHC of village Jamki Chattha was constructed with Rs20 million one year ago and inaugurated by MNA Iftikhar Ahmad Cheema but no electricity, furniture and medicines were being provided there. The staff is performing general duties in other centres.  Similarly, 12 GRDs were established at a cost of Rs30 million in rural areas which are far away from the RHCs and BHUs.  Medical staff was also appointed in these GRDs six months ago but no electricity and medicines were being provided in these dispensaries. The staff including one doctor, LHV, dispenser and peon in each GRD is getting salaries sitting at their homes. Salary budget of a GRD is approximately Rs1.3 million per month.
