LAKKI MARWAT - Police thwarted terror bids by defusing three homemade explosive devices in Nar Raza Khan and Tajazai localities of the district on Monday.

“Police were informed that some suspected material was lying beside an irrigation tube well in Nar Raza Khan village near Naurang town”, said a police official.

He told that a contingent of Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak police station led by SHO Zeenatullah rushed to place and found two explosive devises there.

“Later experts of bomb disposal squad were called out to defuse them”, he maintained. He told that both bombs weighed 15 kg and a battery, a detonator, explosive wire (prima cord) and two stop watches were attached to them.

Separately, another police party of Ghaznikhel police station foiled a bid to blow up power pylons of 66000KV transmission line near Tajazai.

Official said that an explosive device planted by unknown miscreants along power pylons of transmission line was defused by BDS personnel.

He told that the device weighed 2.5 kg and it was connected with other instruments like detonators and stopwatch.
