HAFIZABAD - The water filtration plants, installed in the city at a cost of millions of rupees, have virtually lost their utility, as they have been pumping out contaminated water.

The citizens complained that the TMA did not bother to carry out regular cleaning of these reverse osmosis plants. They said that the water these plants were providing was full of bacteria and salinity. It may be mentioned here that water-borne diseases, such as diarrhea and gastro, had already stricken a number of people because of the provision of sewage-mixed water.
