ISLAMABAD - The Punjab police on Tuesday arrested former MNA of Pakistan Muslim League-Qauid Mehdi Hassan Bhatti, who was involved in gas theft, after the Supreme Court dismissed his bail plea.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry and Justice Gulzar Ahmed after hearing the case dismissed the bail of Mehdi Hassan. He was arrested outside the courtroom at the Supreme Court premises. In June this year when the Lahore High Court had rejected the ex-MNA’s bail petition in the gas theft case he had fled from the LHC courtroom. After that the LHC had issued his arrest warrants.–Staff Reporter
