The number of deaths in Tharparkar has been expanding rapidly. Recently, nine more children died owing to malnutrition in various hospitals of government in this desert region over three days. According to the heath officials the deaths of Thar people rose to 414 since January 1 in 2016. And at least 57,345 children under the age of five years were healed of the six government health facilities in the territory and among them 268 kids passed away during treatment mostly at Mithi civil hospital. It is reported that early marriage and food shortage have been the major causes of deaths in Thar. Something must be done to stop these deaths.
