KARACHI (APP) - Pakistan will participate in the First International Exhibition of Halal Food to be held in February, 2009 in Tehran. This was stated by Syed Mohibullah Shah, Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). He was chairing a meeting to discuss two way trade between Pakistan and Iran with the Iranian Ambassador M. B. Abbassi here at TDAP, Karachi, on Saturday, a TDAP statement said. The new export strategy of TDAP focuses at diversifying the exports of Pakistan and halal food is a potential product with world market of $150 billion. This exhibition will provide a great platform in attaining this objective of increasing Pakistan's share in Halal food market, the Chief Executive of the TDAP added. Addressing the concern of Iranian Ambassador regarding lesser participation from Pakistan in Trade Delegations and Exhibition in Iran, the Chief Executive of TDAP mentioned that to develop extensive trade relations with Iran, TDAP has decided to participate in "18th International Exhibition of Home and Office Furniture" and "14th International Exhibition of Textile Machines, Raw Materials, Home Textile, Embroidery Machineries and Textile Products" to be held in February and October 2009. In view of greatest export potential of Pakistani products in Iranian market, the Ambassador requested to hold a single country exhibition of Pakistani products in Iranian market. The meeting also decided to hold Trade and Export oriented investment conference in Iran and in Pakistan to explore the opportunities of investment in potential export products. The meeting was attended by Consul General Iran Masoud Mohammad Zamani, Commercial Attache Ahmed Fasihi, Director General Asia Nasir Abbas and DG Engineering Abdul Razzak Qureshi.
