Gun battle between security forces and Taliban militants left two Afghan soldiers and three insurgents dead in southern Zabul province, Mohammad Jan Rasoulyar, spokesman for provincial administration, said Tuesday. "Security forces raided Taliban hideouts in Shahjoi district on Monday night, killing three Taliban rebels and injuring two others," Rasoulyar told Xinhua. He also admitted that two Afghan soldiers lost their lives in a roadside bomb organized by Taliban militants. Taliban militants who have vowed to oust Afghan government and evict NATO-led troops from Afghanistan have sped up activities.
