LAHORE - The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) will provide standardised and affordable transport to the citizens in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif. Urban Transport policy will be framed in consultation with the transporters of the City. Innovative initiatives will be brought about in the urban transport sector in accordance with the guiding principles set by the Board of Directors of LTC. Newly elected Chairman of LTC Khawaja Ahmad Hassan expressed these views while presiding over the meeting of Board of Directors here on Monday. MPA Mohsin Latif, Mehr Ishtiaq, Secretary Transport Capt (r) Muhammad Yousaf, Ahsan Chughtai, Chief Executive Officer JI KIM, General Manager Enforcement Fawad Qureshi, General Manager Finance Adnan Mudasser and media adviser Amjad Hussain were also present on the occasion. The chairman said that concrete measures would be taken to address the issue of Urban Transport being faced by the citizens. He said that private investment in transport sector would be encouraged so that transport projects could be executed in line with the principal of private public partnership. He said that views of transporters will be given priority in formulating new strategies of provision of affordable transport to the people. Former chairman of LTC Tasneem Naurani has rendered valuable contribution in developing LTC and we will continue taking advantage from his experience and wisdom, he added.
