LAHORE Personnel of Pakistan Rangers have been deployed in six sensitive districts of the Punjab province including Lahore to maintain law and order and peace during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram. Pakistan Rangers official said that the squads of Quick Reaction Force comprising more than 1000 officials have been deployed in the most sensitive districts including Lahore, Chakwal, Attock, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and Muzaffargarh. The personnel have been deployed in the sensitive localities to ensure foolproof security during the holy month of Muharram. They will help police ensure peace at the routes of man Muharram processions and religious gatherings, an official source said, adding, more Rangers officials would be deployed in the sensitive areas on the request of district police if needed. It is to be noted here that the police have already been put on high-alert across the province to keep the situation under control while the Punjab Home Department has imposed section 144 across the province.
