Doctors assured of resolving issues

LAHORE - Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that government is resolving problems of doctors on priority basis and complete implementation of the agreements made with doctors’ associations is being ensured.
He was talking to a joint delegation of the office-bearers of Pakistan Medical Association Punjab, General Cadre Doctors and Young Doctors Association, on Friday.
Special Secretary Health Babar Hayat Tarar informed that the next two months will be spent only on the promotion cases of doctors into next grade and during the period from December 21 to 31, DPC meetings will be held on daily basis except on holidays, for the promotion of doctors.
The meeting decided that doctors who were regularised in 2009-10 be directed to provide their complete ACRs to the Health Department by December 20 so that they could be promoted into grade 18. The meeting also decided that such doctors who have completed 12 years’ regular service in grade 17/18 be also directed to provide their ACRs to the Health Department by December 20 for promotion into grade 19.
Khawaja Salman while addressing the meeting said that it had been decided in principle that out of 2,000 recently selected doctors who are doing FPCS Part-II should be posted at such district headquarters hospitals of Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Sargodha, DG Khan, Sahiwal and Rahim Yar Khan as are affiliated with new medical colleges on seniority basis for completion of their training. Similarly, consent in writing will also be obtained from qualified (DPH) doctors of general cadre for joining management cadre.  Special Secretary Health Babar Hayat Tarar, Additional Secretary Health (Admn) Khawar Kamal, Additional Secretary Health (Est) Muhammad Khan Ranjha, Deputy Secretary General Dr Shoaib Anwar, Deputy Secretary (Est) Adnan Zafar Khan, Dr Izhar Chaudhary, Dr Masood Akhtar Sheikh, Dr Haq Nawaz Bharwana, Dr Aamir Bandesha, Dr Nazar Murshad and other representatives were present.
