LAHORE - Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority Director General Air Marshal (Retd) Muhammad Yousaf visited Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIAP) on Friday to review the facilities provided by CAA to passengers.

Addressing to CAA officers at Airport, DG said that passengers were their real asset and they need their special attention. He directed all concerned officers to upgrade the facilities already being provided to passengers.

He demanded the officers to work hard for the promotion and progress of CAA. He was of the view that there would be zero tolerance against inefficiency and corruption. DG directed General Manager Horticulture to expedite landscaping work in the surrounding of Airport so that passengers coming from aboard could have feeling of attraction.

DG expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made at airport. Later on DG visited runway of the airport and issued instructions to turn the runway into an international standard airport.

Earlier DG inaugurated New CIP Lounge of Quetta International Airport on Friday, said spokesman of CAA here. He said it is another appreciable step of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority towards comforts and convenience of the passengers travelling from/ to Quetta International Airport.  This new CIP Lounge is spread over 1800 sq ft area with a seating capacity of 58 passengers and equipped with other modern facilities of the day. Presently, PIA, SAI and Air Indus are operating from Quetta International Airport.

About 50 flights per week are being operated at Quetta International Airport and capacity of existing Terminal Building and Car Parking Area with a capacity of 600 vehicles, are more than sufficient to cater the needs of present passengers movement.  During the inaugural ceremony, DG CAA said that Quetta International Airport will also be provided with all the modern technical and passengers related facilities gradually as are available at the other major airports of the country for the comfort and convenience of the people of Balochistan Province.
