Islamabad - The special teams of Health Services Directorate of CDA conducted various raids during last week and issued 30 notices and challaned 12 people for selling unhygienic, substandard and adulterated food items in the city.  This information was given to Member Administration and Estate of the CDA Amer Ali who chaired a meeting Saturday to review the progress of ongoing campaign against unhygienic and substandard food sellers in Islamabad.

He was also informed that during the last week these teams have confiscated 15 liters of expired ketchup, five dozens of sub-standard and non branded snacks. Moreover, 45 cracked / chipped utensils were also confiscated and subsequently destroyed. During the operation, teams of Health Services Directorate have partially sealed one restaurant for selling unhygienic and substandard food items.

Member Administration and Estate, Amer Ali Ahmed was apprised that DHS is continuing its operation against the sale of unhygienic, expired and adulterated edible items in the markets of Federal Capital. He was informed that in order to ensure strict monitoring and effective vigilance, special teams have been constituted, each special team is being led by a Food Inspector and all the teams are working under the supervision of Health Officer and Director Health Services and performance of these teams is being reviewed on daily basis.    

Member Administration and Estate directed the director Health Services to take stern action against the violators of hygienic sections PPF Ordinance 1960 and in this regard no laxity will be tolerated. He further directed to take on spot action in form of confiscation and destruction of sub-standard and adulterated food items.

He said that the campaign against unhygienic edible items would continue without favour or fear.
