Rawalpindi - Speakers at a conference have said that Pakistan is facing numerous challenges which can be overcome through economic prosperity.

The conference titled “Professional Business Conference” was organised by Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) here at a local hotel on Saturday. On the occasion, Dr Fernando Panesso Serni, Ambassador of Columbia to Pakistan and Turkey, was the chief guest. The other prominent guests were Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Former Advisor to PM, Kaisar Bangali, economist, Iftikhar Ahmed Vohra, President KCCI, Tahira Raza, President FWB, Rahat Kaunain, former chairperson Competition Commission of Pakistan, Tariq Sultan, member finance PTA, Sayyid Mansoob Hassan, Muhammad Naveed, Asif Iqbal, Shehzad Ahmed Malik, and Abid Lateef Lodhi.

Addressing on the conference, they said that stakeholders need to work together for development of economy. They said that the professional institutes and professional bodies could play a pivotal role in the economic development of the country. The ICMA Pakistan while realising and understanding its role took initiative by organising different business conferences across Pakistan to contribute towards awareness and promotion of industry, trade and business. The speakers emphasised that Pakistan has enormous resources and there was only need to ensure effective and judicious utilisation of resources that also include professional development of human resources.

President and Chief Executive ICMA Pakistan Zia-ul-Mustafa talked about investment potential in Pakistan. He said Pakistani market was one of the best growing markets of Asia. He also said, “We need to come with new avenues that would attract investor’s confidence.” He informed the audience that the institute has taken the initiative to hold a conference to make deliberations on the ways to improve overall economy of the country.

The conference was widely attended by Chairman CPD Abdul Khalil, Vice President Ghulam Mustafa Qazi, Chairman Welfare Committee Sajjad Ahmad. The purpose of business professional conference was to portray corporate image of Pakistan to the world and motivate the entrepreneurs for business growth, enhance the confidence of the investors in Pakistan’s business market and encourage youth of Pakistan to explore new horizons.  ICMAP under its CPD Committee regularly organizes conferences, seminars, and roundtables from time to time to foster debate on significant issues.

Conferences are designed in a manner where the experts deliberate on issues in the conference to elaborate the context and future scenarios that impact the overall business efficiencies in the country.
