KARACHI - The Sindh Police have upgraded the driving licence system and made it easier for the people of Karachi to get driving license.

Sindh Police IG AD Khawaja inaugurated the new driving license system “One Window Operation” by paying fee for verification of license though the new computerised system. The Driving Licence Branch DIG gave a briefing about the new technology adopted by the branch. He said the new technology would facilitate the citizens within the country and abroad also. He said that mobile vans would facilitate the people of Karachi in near future. He said that citizens could get complete information about the licence on the website. He said that online verification, registration, new logo, new card and mobile phone application for the driving licence were part of the latest software.

He said the new system would take five minutes to issue a new learning license, 15 to 20 minutes for verification and 45 minutes for a new licence. It is worth mentioning here that driving licence branch, Clifton, has been upgraded. IG AD Khawaja said that rest of the branches should also be upgraded.

Additional IG (Traffic) Khadim Hussain Bhatti, Additional IG (Karachi) Mushtaq Mehar and CPLC chief Zubair Habib were also present.
