SIALKOT-The local PML-N leaders accommodated their close relatives and family members of MNAs and MPA while allotting the party tickets for the slots of chairman and vice chairmen of District Council Sialkot.

The PML-N leaders have termed these candidates the most suitable and potential, and selected on merit.

Sambrial-based MPA Arshad Javaid Warraich remained successful in getting the party ticket for his daughter Hina Arshad Warraich as PML-N candidate for the slot of chairperson of Zila Council Sialkot. She would be the first ever female head of the Zila Council Sialkot if elected.

On the other hand, Variyo Family used its trump card and gained two seats of the vice chairmen of the District Council Sialkot. Local PML-N leadership allotted party ticket to Ch Raza Subhani Advocate, younger brother of MNA Armughan Subhani, and Malik Ziyafat Ali Awan who is backed by the Variyos, as PML- N candidate for the seat of vice chairman of Zila Council.

Now, the Variyo family has a frontline political role to play in the local bodies politics, said MNA Armughan Subhani. He said that it would provide maximum opportunities to the Variyo Family to serve the people.

The party leadership gave the third ticket for the seat of vice chairman to Jamil Ashraf, former MPA and elder brother of local MPA Ch. Mohsin Ashraf. There is one seat of chairman and three seats of vice chairmen in Zila Council.

The allotment of the party tickets to the family members of the local MNAs and MPAs by the local PML-N leadership will promote the family politics in Sialkot district, political observers said.

The politicians are busy in the election campaign for the victory of the PML-N candidates ahead of the elections of District Council Sialkot scheduled to be held on Dec 22, 2016.

Daska-based MNA Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah is still annoyed with the PML-N leadership for not allotting the party ticket to his cousin Sahibzada Syed Hassaanatul Hassan Shah as the PML-N candidate for the slot of chairman.

Federal Minister for Defence, Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Federal Minister for Law and Climate Change Zahid Hamid, Punjab Minister for Local Bodies Punjab Manshaullah Butt, Ch Tauheed Akhtar and Ch. Bashir Ahmed, elected mayor and deputy mayor of Sialkot Municipal Corporation, are supervising the LB election campaign by holding meetings of the UC chairmen, vice chairmen and councillors in Sialkot district.

In Pasrur, MNA Subhani and Zahid Hamid are busy holding meeting with the local groups of PML-N, split over the burning issue of party tickets. They vowed to bring a potential leadership in Pasrur city which would be capable to solve all the problems of Pasrur city.

Rs125m issued to set up training

institute: Federal government has released a Rs125 million grant from Export Development Fund (EDF) for the establishment of a Pakistan Readymade Garments Technical Training Institute at Sialkot.

Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) Central Chairman Ejaz A Khokhar disclosed this while talking to the newsmen at his Sialkot office here. He said that the mega project would be started soon at Sialkot under the supervision of PRGMEA for the promotion of readymade garments and textile industry in Sialkot.
