Given the importance of the historic day and the historic cause these 48 nations gathered in Istanbul yesterday to attend the extraordinary OIC summit, with all human heart, it will not be wrong to say that there should be no question as to who is representing Pakistan at the OIC. It was for the Muslim Ummah - the greatest cause ever! Nonetheless, Pakistan did face this question, but only at the hands of the country’s own people - the opposition parties. How could we expect the second largest political party of Pakistan to not make an issue out of the fact that Chief Minister Punjab represented Pakistan along with the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif.

What is CM SSharif doing at OIC Summit in Turkey? Why were the other CMs not taken along also? PM Abbasi has proven that he is nothing but a puppet in the hands of the Sharif mafia. Shameful discrimination against smaller provinces.

The first question: What was CM Shahbaz Sharif doing at the summit?

Well, CM Shahbaz was representing Pakistan - a Muslim member country of OIC, along with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif. He was there for a cause greater than all politics, greater than bashing your country mates. Also, he enjoys great cordial relations with the Turkish leadership - especially President Erdogan. He stands out because he works hard to ensure maximum service delivery to the people of his province.

Why were the other chief ministers not taken along also?

I think it’s merely because they were not invited. Shahbaz Sharif was invited to the OIC Summit. He is also the most popular Chief Minister from Pakistan. As far as I can remember, at the One Belt One Road Summit (where all the chief ministers of Pakistan were invited), CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa missed his own engagements in China. He could have made his mark there if he wanted? He could have brought some real business investments to KP like CM Shahbaz did. So if Imran Khan has to question someone, I think he should consider two things: performance and delivery in KP and secondly, is he actually questioning the Turk administration for not inviting chief ministers of other provinces? Because given the facts, Imran Khan cannot blame the Government of Pakistan in this case.

What even? You just declared that you do not recognize him as the Prime Minister of Pakistan, why make such naive statements? He attended the OIC, gave three suggestion points to resolve the conflict. He represented Pakistan as its Prime Minister. The same bashing with repetitive statements? This is not the 'Naya Pakistan' I want, where what your followers are learning is criticising everything. Even if it is about a cause as great as the maintenance of the sanctity of Al-Quds. A cause that is dear to every Muslim! Please take some concrete steps yourself Mr Imran Khan. Don’t give this false image of Pakistan to the world. Please don’t make Pakistan’s enemies happy.

What discrimination? Are you saying that the “shameful” discrimination was done by the great friend Turkey because CM Punjab was invited while other Chief Ministers were not? Were the other provincial heads, despite having abundance of funds, able to deliver as professionally and responsibly as Punjab that their performance could be termed as “Murad Speed’ or “Khattak Speed”? It should not even be a question.

The need of the hour is a severe reality check, an honesty check and a responsibility check as well. Only then should one consider making such statements. It seems just the result of being habitually able to bash the target: PML-N. What needs to be realised is that you are sending a message to the world that we are divided as a nation. That also at a time when we should have been united for the Muslim Ummah suffering everywhere around the world today.
