ISLAMABAD - There was a complete hush in the federal capital after a US senator claimed that drones, which carry attacks in the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), fly from an airbase within Pakistan. When the Nawa-i-Waqt contacted a spokesman of Pakistan Air Force (PAF), he told that the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) could provide the appropriate answer because the matter comes under its jurisdiction. When ISPR chief Maj-Gen Athar Abbas was approached, he informed that the Foreign Office would issue a statement in this regard because it had been provided with all necessary information. When Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit was contacted, he told that no statement was being issued today, but this might be expected on Saturday (today).
