Punjab, Railways flatten rivals in women hockey

LAHORE - Punjab and Railways progressed happily on day four of the Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Gold Cup Women's Hockey Tournament being played hereat the National Hockey Stadium on Friday. Punjab rendered NWFP harmless with a goal riot of 12 after scoring half a dozen till the breather while Railways had a hard going in their 3-0 win over Balochistan. President Pakistan Peoples Party Women's Wing Begum Hussnain was the chief guest of first match and Federal Minister for Social Welfare Samina Khalid Ghurki was the chief guest of second match. She also announced Rs 25,000 for T-shirts for the players. One match between Sindh and Islamabad will be played on Saturday at 3 pm.
