JHANG – A group of 34 men allegedly attacked a police team and forcibly took away two drug pushers from their custody.

According to details, Jhang Saddar Police received information that two narcotics dealers namely Asif and Ajmel were openly selling narcotics in Chak 265-JB. A team of Jhang Sadar Police conducted a raid and arrested both the alleged culprits on the spot and recovered 1.5kg heroin and hefty amount of cash from their possession. Meanwhile, a group of 34 dwellers of the area including Wajid, Abid, and Skinder attacked the police and succeeded to take away both drug vendors from their custody after torturing policemen. They attackers also snatched cellphones from the policemen. The police have registered a case against 19 nominated and 15 unidentified alleged accused attackers. Meanwhile, Kutwali Police conducted a raid at the house of Umer in Mohallah Pindi and arrested him after recovering 42 liters liquor from him and registered a case against him.

BOOK LAUNCHED: A ceremony to launch a book “100 Year Awakening of South Asian Muslims” written by Engineer Mukhtar Hussain Farooqi, was held at Quran Academy Jhang under the chairmanship of former head of Philosophy Department of Punjab university DR Ibsar Ahmed.

Addressing the ceremony, the speakers said that history was witness that a century ago Muslims of the world were subjected but during last 100 years Muslim of South Asia defeated super powers and ruled the region. They further said that if Muslims of the world followed the principles of Quran in all field of life, they could rule over the whole world and restore their lost status.

They said that the solution to all problems faced by the world was in Islamic education. Director Iqbal Academy Dewan-e- Iqbal Lahore Dr Sohail Umer and Dr Talib Hussain Sial professor of International Islamic University Islamabad were special guest of the ceremony.
