TOBA TEK SINGH - Dacoits injured four people in two separate incidents and burglars took away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 275,000 from a house here the other night.

Nine dacoits entered the house of Liaqat in Chak 389/JB and took hostage all family members and collected cash, jewellery, cellphones and other valuables. The locals rushed to the house when they heard noise from the house.

On seeing the villagers, the dacoits opened indiscriminate fire. As a result, Jamshed, Jamil and Usman received serious injuries. The injured were admitted to DHQ Hospital in critical condition.

Similarly, unidentified motorcyclists shot injured a youth on Toba-Gojra Road near Railway Underpass.

Muhammad Toseef, a resident of Garden Town was on the way on a motorcycle when two men on a bike intercepted him. They tried to snatch the bike from him. He offered resistance and upon this they opened indiscriminate fire on him. He was admitted in DHQ Hospital.

In another incident, burglars took away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs275,000 from the house of Riasat Ali in Faiz Colony here the other night.

House owner lodged a complaint in the City Police submitting that he along with his family was not at home when burglars broke into a house.

Meanwhile, an alleged thief was caught red handed while breaking the roof of a grocery shop in Gobindpura locality on Sabzi Mandi Road.

Shop owner Sikandar Ali told that accused also confessed that he had earlier stolen cash and valuables twice from the shop.
