LAKKI MARWAT - The local chapter of JUI-F has threatened to hold protest demonstrations if the provincial government and district administration failed to compensate the affected families of Naurang terror incident within one week.

Member of JUI-F Provincial Shura Sahibzada Maulana Ashraf Ali told the media on Wednesday that the government functionaries did not bother to console the relatives and heirs of the deceased officials. “The affected families have been left on the mercy of Allah as they have not been extended any financial assistance so far”, he maintained.

On February 2, eleven civilians including three officials of irrigation department and their family members were killed in the attack on army camp near Naurang town.

Flanked by victim families’ members including Ghulam Ali and Syed Wali Shah, JUI Lakki tehsil chapter Amir Maulana Ahmad Shah Qureshi and General Secretary Maulana Abdul Haq, he said that area elders also failed to fulfil their responsibilities in this regard.

“Just to attend funerals and offer condolences for the deceased by local elders were not enough”, he maintained adding the elders should press the government and local administration for early compensation of affected families.

“The dual standards of the present government can be judged from the fact that on one hand the terror victim Malala Yousafzai was flown to UK for treatment while on the other side the militancy hit residents of this district are waiting for government’s help”, he told.

The JUI leader asked the government and local administration to feel the sufferings of affected families and provide them all sorts of compensation without any delay otherwise the district chapter of party would have no option other than to launch agitation movement.
