LAHORE – The Opposition members in the Punjab Assembly Wednesday moved a requisition for calling a session to discuss the torture on PPP lawmaker Shaukat Basra.
Leader of the Opposition Raja Riaz said torture on Basra and other workers of the PPP was deplorable and they wanted to raise this issue on the floor of the House.  Talking to the media at the Services Hospital, Shaukat Basra said first he was booked in a false case, and then tortured by the police. He alleged police did it on the backing of Punjab government that has been run by force.
