SIALKOT - Regional Police Officer Gujranwala Capt (r) Muhammad Ameen has reactivated all the arbitrary committees in all the 27 police stations of Sialkot district, saying that these committees would play a pivotal role in ending disputes of the people at local level.

Addressing a large gathering of the local notables, senior police officials, lawyers, traders, philanthropists and journalists at Sambrial after inaugurating the building of the Model Police Station Sambrial, the RPO greeted the donors for making this police-public project as a living reality, paving the way for the promotion of the good cooperation between police and public.

The RPO said that police’s prime obligations was to secure the lives and properties of the people, saying that the police would adopt the advanced and standard operative system at Model Police Station, which would be helpful in minimising  the negative impression  of police in the minds of the people  in this society.

The traditional police attitude would also be changed, as the main purpose of establishment of the model police stations was to provide maximum relief to the needy people. Police must give respect to the people in the police stations, as the police station providing friendly atmosphere to the people would also be the model police stations, he added.

He said that the criminals and outlaws could never escape from law, as no one was above the law. He said that the police have been made vibrant against the crimes and criminals. The RPO announced to work as SHO for several hours in a week at Sambrial model police station in a bid to ensure speedy relief to the needy and oppressed people. He also sought active cooperation of the local traders, lawyers, journalists and notables in making the model police station project as successful.

Capt (r) Muhammad Ameen also announced to formulate the Crime Control Committees in all the 57 villages of Sambrial tehsils. Each of this committee would be consisting of 10 members. The RPO strictly directed the police officials that all the investigations would be made purely on merit in all the police stations.

He said that no arrest of any accused would be made without any solid and sufficient proof against him or her.

The police officials would deliver the copies of the FIRs to the homes of the petitioners, avoiding the repeated visits of petitioners to the police stations for getting the copies of their FIRs, he said. He added that the police would also discourage the “bail before arrest culture” in the society.

He said that police would be made public-friendly, besides, promoting the good policing in the society in active cooperation with all the segments of life, as this model police station would also provide the solutions to al the problems being confronted by the people. He lauded the team efforts of Sialkot DPO Afzaal Ahmed Kausar and his team led by Inspector Engineer Rana Zahid Hussain (SHO Sambrial police station) for making a dream of establishing this model police station true.

He revealed that the mutual cooperation among public, business community and police could also be help full in bringing betterment in police performance through the promotion of good policing, besides, helping a lot  rebuild the shattered confidence of the people over police. The RPO said that people-friendly police was vital to remove all the social immoralities , saying that the police was the servant of the masses and it was the prime obligation of the police to protect  the life, property and honour of the people.
