london (bbc)More than 30 victims of disgraced TV legend Sir Jimmy Savile are to launch legal action against the BBC and the late presenter's estate. Savile was unmasked as a serial paedophile following his death at the age of 84 in 2011, and it has since emerged he sexually abused 450 victims, including 30 children, many of them during his time working at the BBC.
A lawsuit was launched earlier this month against the BBC and the executors of Savile's estate, and a lawyer representing the victims has revealed 31 of them plan to join the legal action. Solicitor Alan Collins tells Bloomberg, "We have 31 cases ready to go and potentially many more to come."
