LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif reviewed overall law and order situation in the province on Friday as well as the steps taken under National Action Plan.

Presiding over a meeting here at the CM secretariat, the chief minister expressed his satisfaction with the steps taken following the National Action Plan on the occasion directed the authorities concerned to ensure effective implementation of the plan. He appreciated the coordination between the concerned institutions, saying that Punjab government had taken immediate and effective measures while necessary amendments had also been made in the laws awarding exemplary punishment to the terrorists and their facilitators.

“Nation has resolved to eliminate terrorism, extremism and sectarianism on permanent basis and these evils will soon meet their logical end,” the chief minister viewed.

Shahbaz Sharif said that victory was the only option in the war against terrorism which would be won at any cost so as to come up to the expectations of the masses. He said that there was no room for extremism and terrorism in the country which would be rooted out to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state in the real sense.
