SIALKOT - District Drugs Risk Force Chairman Ch Tariq Akhtar Subhani urged the drug task officials to take quick action against quacks, medical stores and clinics selling expired and banned medicines.
He also directed for using animals' medicines on human beings there in Sialkot district. Addressing a meeting, Ch Tariq Akhtar Subhani directed the officials that all the responsible people be brought to book in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils.
He also sought active cooperation of local media and police to curb the menace of the quackery. He also asked the officials to deal with the drug mafia with iron fist, saying that the members of the drug mafia were the enemies and killers of the humanity.
On the occasion, the meeting was told that the special teams of Sialkot Health Department have sealed 16 medical stores and clinics in for selling expired medicines and using veterinary medicines on human beings.
CEO of Sialkot District Health Authority Dr Latif Ahmed Sahi said that the cases had been registered against the owners of sealed medical stores and clinics.
