Supreme Court of Pakistan has reserved the verdict in Article 62(1)(f) case after Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf completed his arguments today.
Five-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar heard the case to determine time duration of disqualification for politicians.
During his arguments, Attorney General said that there is no specific time length of disqualification mentioned in the constitution of Pakistan under Article 62(1)(f) and it will remain till amendment by parliament.
"This issue have to be resolved by the parliament," Ausaf said. Upon this Chief Justice remarked that if there is no specific time mentioned in constitution then it will be disqualification for life time.
The petition to seek time duration of disqualification under Article 62(1)(f) was filed by politicians who were disqualified in cases of fake degrees.
As the case started, Supreme Court summoned PTI leader Jahangir Tareen and PML-N president Nawaz Sharif to be parties in the case.
Tareen did become a party but Nawaz Sharif refused to be part of the case proceedings.
