KARACHI - Sindh DSP’s gunman was wounded in a firing incident near Baloch Colony while an ex-police gunned down within the remits of Korangi police station.

The incident took place when DSP Iffat Chaudhry who was posted to police headquarters, East zone in a police mobile van was passing through the Baloch Colony. Police officials said that unidentified persons resorted to indiscriminate fire, resultantly, his gunman, namely constable Karamat Hussain was wounded in the incident.

The injured police was immediately moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment where doctors termed his condition out of danger as he was once hit in his leg.

Extra contingent of the law enforcers also reached the site to inquire about the incident and collected the evidences. Police officials said that the case was being investigated from different angles whether an incident was a murderous attack on the DSP or not. No case has been registered till the filing of this news story.

Sindh IGP Allah Dino Khowaja also took a notice of the incident and sought a report from the District South SSP Javed Akbar Riaz over the incident. Ashraf Tanoli expelled from the police force couple of months ago was shot dead near Vita Chowrangi by unknown assailants.

 Police said that Tanoli was on his way to home located in Korangi when gunmen ridding on a motorbike shot him thrice and managed to flee.

The victim was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center where doctors pronounced him dead. Police suspect that personal enmity was the reason behind the murder while registered the case against unknown assailants.
