Hamza calls Lodhran win proof of PML-N’s popularity

PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz Sharif has said that Lodhran win of the PML-N candidate proves public appreciation of the performance of the PML-N government that has met all promises made with the masses.  Talking to the media, he sadi the PML-N government performance has contributed to Lodhran victory and adding former PM Nawaz Sharif is popular leader.  He called for strengthening democracy. He also laid stress on close coordination and strong harmony between the institutions as a matter of addressing problems and facing enemies of the country. He said every challenging time had made us one in the past and this time too we will stay united to meet the threats.  He took a swipe at PTI chief Imran Khan for what he called damaging democracy by blame games and sit-ins.  About a recent statement of former interior minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan where he had refused to accept the leadership of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Hamza said it was personal opinion of Ch Nisar which he expressed publicly. The PML-N is a large political party wherein everyone has right to speak out his mind, he added. To another question Hamza said that their government has taken very important development steps that would pay off the party in a big way in the coming elections. He said despite making huge spending, Ali Tarin, son of Jahangir Tarin of PTI lost election in Lodhran. Upcoming election will clear everything he said sounding very optimistic about the PML-N win. –Staff Reporter

 Three file nomination papers for Senate by-election

Three candidates filed nomination papers for Senate seat that fell vacant after the disqualification of PML-N leader Nihal Hashmi on the charges of contempt of court. PML-N’s Mian Marghoob Ahmad and Asad Ashraf and for the PTI Dr Zarqa filed the nomination papers. Dr Zarqa reached Election Commission office on a motorcycle after her car got stuck up in traffic rush near Lahore High Court to file the papers before closing of the time. –Staff Reporter

 Former MPA joins PML-Q

Former MPA from Daska Ch Mumtaz Ali called on PML-Q leader Ch Pervaiz Elahi at his residence here on Tuesday and announced joining hands with him. Pervaiz said that his party served people and it always gave its friends and colleagues respect and honour.  Ch Mumtaz praised the leadership of PML-Q.  PA speaker’s uncle laid to rest

Funeral prayer of veteran politician from Phoolnagar, Rana Nisar Ahmad Khan was held on Tuesday. He was laid to rest at a local graveyard the same day.  Late Rana Nisar was uncle of Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammmad Iqbal and younger brother of Rana Phool Muhammad Khan.  His two sons, Rana Hayat and Rana Ishaq, are sitting MNAs of the PML-N from Phooolnagar. People from all walks of life including politicians attended his funeral prayers.  –Staff Reporter
