QILA DIDAR SINGH - Journalism is a noble profession. Mediamen are the eyes and ears of the society. They should play due role in addressing public problems.

This was stated by industrialist Mehboob Alam during an address to the inauguration ceremony of the new building of Ladhewala Warraich Press Club here the other day.

Speaking as a chief guest, Mehboob Alam pointed out that mediamen had an undeniable role in mitigating the problems being faced by the common man. "They should also point out positive aspects of an issue as eagerly as they highlight negative aspects," he said.

On the occasion, Mehboob Alam awarded shields to other guests and granted Rs150,000 for the renovation of the press club building.

Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) tehsil general secretary Haji Amanullah, UC chairman Saeed Ahmed Shad, vice chairman Rana Azaam and Rural Health Centre Medical Superintendent Dr Adil Ayub were present on the occasion.


PML-N MNA Tariq Mehmood claimed during an address to the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Govt Girls High School Kot Ishaq that the incumbent government had completed Rs5 billion worth development projects. He said that he would strengthen state institutions and would get Gujranwala city of extortion mafia after coming to power. He also announced to hold a big public meeting at Gondanwala in the coming days.


A training workshop was organised under the auspices of Livestock Department for schoolchildren for catering to dairy animals. The workshop was organised at govt High School No 2 on directions of Livestock Gujranwala Division Director Dr Khalil Ahmed. The students were taught the ways to cater to dairy animals and their safe nourishment. The students were also informed the walks of life wherein they could pursue career as a veterinary doctor.
