MIRPUR (AJK) - Black Day will be observed by the people throughout Azad Jammu & Kashmir on Monday (today) to protest against the recent frequent violation of ceasefire through unprovoked firing by the Indian troops on Line of Control (LOC) in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
Call for observing the black day has been given by the AJK government to register resentment and protest against the continued LoC violation by the Indian army besides inviting the attention of international community and the United Nations towards the aggressive designs of India in the region particularly on the Line of Control in the Himalayan Jammu & Kashmir state.
The AJK-wide black day will be followed by protest demonstrations in all small and major towns and cities of AJK including the capital city of Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Rawlakot, Kotli, Bagh Bhimbher and Neelam valley and other parts of the AJK state.
A protest demonstration will also be staged by the AJK people before Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
The AJK government has also asked the Kashmiris settled abroad to lodge their protest before the major international bodies. The scheduled black day will be marked with the strong protests by the masses across the State.
In Mirpur, a black day procession will be taken out from District Courts premises under the auspices of National Events Organizing Committee (NEOC), said its Chairman Ch Guftar Hussain. The procession will be participated by a large number of people from all segments of society including social, political workers, activists of various public representative organizations and employees of all private and public sector employees.
After passing through central Shaheed Chowk and Allama Iqbal Road, the rally will turn into a public meeting at the lawns of Municipal Corporation building where highlight the current escalation on the line of control following unprovoked violations of ceasefire by the Indian troops.
