MIRPUR (AJK) - The activists representing diverse segments of the civil society in Azad Jammu & Kashmir have expressed grave concern over escalation along the Line of Control in Jammu & Kashmir.

“We are deeply concerned over the current escalation along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir that impacts negatively on the lives of natives across the divide in the State and injects uncertainties regarding the future direction of Kashmir-specific peace process”, the AJK civil society elders said in a joint statement released here on Sunday.

The signatories to the joint statement included seasoned civil society activists including AJK PML-N Secretary General Shah Ghulam Qadir, former ambassador Arif Kamal, Aisha Jehangir Khan, Altaf Wani, Dr Naseema Seema Jogazi, Dr Shaheen Akhtar, Ershad Mahmud, Farzana Yaqoob, Khawaja Farooq Ahmad, Advocate M Ahmad Shaikh and M Farooq Rahman.
