MANDI BAHAUDDIN - The Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society central leaders have decided to join the Qadri’s long march on 14th and for this purpose all the arrangements have been made.

The announcement was made by Major (r) Sher Muhammad Gondal, the district president of the PESS. Talking to the media, he said htat the PESS had conveyed the decision to the society members belonging to villages located in the vicinity of GT Road from Lahore to Islamabad, the route of the march.

He said Tahirul Qadri’s demands to reform the electoral system to elect honest people up to the qualification laid down in the Constitution are correct. Therefore, he added, the government should immediately accept these demands. Holding election under old and stereotyped system will maintain monopoly of traditional politicians who had badly failed to bring any positive change in the lives of the poor, he said.

He said the arrangement of ex-servicemen participation in the long march had been coordinated with the local leaders of Tehrik-e-Minhajul Qaran, and according to the programme they will assemble at Shahna Lok from where they would proceed further and join the long march at Kharian.

EPI Committee: With a view to protect children from various diseases, an EPI Acceleration Committee under the Chairmanship of DCO Farah Masood has been constituted here the other day. Addressing the first meeting, she stressed the need for strict monitoring of vaccinators and paramedical staff to ensure their punctuality and working.

She warned that the delinquents would be shown zero tolerance.

The World Health Organisation representative, the DD-O Health and Pindi Bhattian attended the meeting.
