SIALKOT - Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan has said the international community could not ignore sacrifices of people of the occupied Jammu & Kashmir for their right to self-determination and freedom from the Indian yoke.

He was addressing a meeting at village Ahmalpur-Bajwat near here on Sunday after inaugurating the newly-established utility stores at village Koobay Chak

Federal Minister for National Regulation and Services Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr Asim Hussain and several AJK ministers and local PPP leaders were also present.

The AJK president urged the UNO to ensure implementation on its promised resolutions for peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people under the UNO resolutions. He added that the people of Kashmir were demanding their basic democratic right to self-determination. He expressed complete solidarity with the innocent and oppressed people of the held Jammu & Kashmir.

He also expressed grave concern over the rising human rights violations, killings and genocide of the innocent Kashmiris by the Indian Army in the held valley.

He also urged the world community to use its influence to pressurise India for halting human rights violations, killings and genocide of the oppressed Kashmiris by the Indian Army in the held Jammu& Kashmir. The AJK president said protection of rights of the Kashmiri people was a top priority of the government and the government was making all-out efforts for this purpose as the Kashmir was an integral part of Pakistan.

Earlier, talking to the media at Koobay Chak, AJK President Sardar Yaqoob Khan said Pakistan’s political and economic stability could highlight effectively the Kashmir issue in the international community. He said that the PPP would get majority in the next general elections, adding that the PPP was promoting politics of reconciliation in the country as the PPP leadership believed in dialogues.

He urged all political parties in Pakistan to be united and shun their political differences for the stability of Pakistan which was vital for strengthening the Kashmir issue globally.

The AJK President said the PPP-led government was committed to provide basic facilities to people at their doorsteps for which all available resources were being utilized.

He added that the government was making all-out efforts to resolve problems of people.­
