PESHAWAR - The participants of a seminar termed the Tahir-ul-Qadri-led long march on Islamabad a conspiracy against democracy and hailed the decision of other political parties of not participating in the long march.

The seminar was titled “ Democracy and stable Pakistan” organized by Pakhtun Awareness Movement Khyber Pakhtunkhwa here at Peshawar press club.

Those who spoke on the occasion include President Pakhtun Awareness Movement Shehab Khattak Advocate, General Secretary Shakeel Waheedullah, Dr Said Alam, Maulana Jalil Jan of JUI-F, Ayub Shah of PPP, Shabir Ahmad from Jamaat Islami, Usman Khalil of Qaumi Watan Party and leader of Progressive Muslim League Moazam Butt.

They said that in this critical time the country confronted with multiple problems in the shape of terrorism, lawlessness and energy crisis while taking advantage from these problems, some undemocratic forces cash the occasion to delay upcoming election in the country.

They said that due to bad governance and corruption of the incumbent government, these elements are now misguiding the people to develop a clash between democratic and undemocratic forces.

They added that in this critical hour all the democratic forces of the country should unite to foil such conspiracy and avoid any adventurism in the country.

They added that revolution would only be brought through fair and transparent election and using other tactics for revolution would be tantamount to pave way for another military take over.

They rejected the long march of Doctor Tahir-ul-Qadri under the banner of Tehreek Minhaj-ul-Quran and declared it well-hatched conspiracy against democracy.
