No place for extremism, terrorism in Islam: PM

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance and there is no space for extremism, sectarianism and terrorism.
In his message on 12th Rabiul Awal, 1435 Hijrah in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the Prime Minister congratulated the countrymen on the auspicious event, saying that it was indeed a great blessing of Almighty Allah Who had sent Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him) for the guidance of whole humanity. “That we have sent not thee (O Muhammad) but as a mercy to the whole of humankind, as a mercy to all the world,” the Holy Quran defined the purpose of sending the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The Prime Minister said that this day reminded us to lead our lives according to the teachings of the Holy Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) and the Islamic injunctions.
The Prime Minister said that the day marked the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), who brought with him the Holy Quran which contained a complete code of life with comprehensive guidelines and directions for a successful life.
“On the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), I would like to congratulate the countrymen and Muslim world,” he said, adding, the life of our Holy Prophet (PBUH) was beacon of light for the whole humanity and his personality was a perfect blend of sublime character, tolerance, integrity, honesty and determination.
“Such were the impacts of the personality of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) which brought about spiritual and social revolution in the world. Our Holy Prophet (PBUH) also proved with his behaviour that a true Muslim cannot cause harm to other Muslims through his words or deeds,” he added.
The Prime Minister said that the life of our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was a practical interpretation of the Holy Quran and that was the reason that Almighty Allah bestowed upon him the title of “Rehmat-ul-Alameen” (Mercy for the worlds).
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) taught his followers to imbibe the values of love, peace, tolerance and compassion and demonstrate sympathy, love and affection in their dealings and interactions.
The Prime Minister said that one of the conspicuous characteristic of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was his dealing with the minorities and non-Muslims as he always emphasized upon tolerance and protection of their rights.
The Holy Prophet had told that Islam was a universal religion of peace which guaranteed human dignity, brotherhood and welfare without any discrimination on basis of cast, creed or religion, he added.
The Prime Minister called upon the countrymen to devote their energies for the prosperity of the country and promotion of Islam by acting upon the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The countrymen would make Pakistan a cradle of peace and prosperity, he added.
