Govt starts compensating Metro affectees

The payment of compensation to the affectees of Multan Metro Bus Project has resumed as the camp office at Aam Khaas Bagh has started functioning again.
Land acquisition collector of Multan Development Authority (MDA) Ghulam Mustafa disclosed said that the issuance of vouchers to the affectees had begun. He said that a group of miscreants from Chungi No-14 area created fuss without any reason. “Their case regarding ownership of property is under trial in a court but they are trying to exert pressure through their protest,” he added. He declared that the vouchers would be issued to them if they came with court order.
Referring to the protesters from BCG Chowk area, he said that the award for them would be issued in next week and issuance of vouchers would begin. He said that some affectees demanded their wanted payments which were against the law. He said that vouchers were being issued to even those affectees whose documents were incomplete.
