KARACHI - More than 1,200 members and office-bearers, including 26 central office-bearers of MQM-Pakistan, announced joining the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) on Saturday.

PSP President Anis Kaimkhani said this at a press conference at Pakistan House. PSP Senior Vice Chairman Anis Advocate, Dr Sagheer Ahmad, Vice Chairman Waseem Aftab, Ashfaq Mangi, Deputy Mayor of Karachi Arshad Vohra and MNA Salman Mujahid Baloch were present at the press conference.

Anis said that PSP was flourishing day by day and in one month alone more than 3,000 members and office bearers of different political parties joined the party. He said that PSP had started its preparations for the next elections. He said forms for those interested in contesting the election from PSP platform were available on the PSP website.

Anis said that Fata should be integrated into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) after reforms. He appealed to the administration of Nadra to address the issues people face while obtaining their national identity cards. The PSP president also congratulated new Chief Minister of Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo.

Criticising the federal, provincial and local governments, he said it's an irony that the prime minister of the country does not recognise himself as prime minister. He said construction of motorways and roads would not make the country prosperous, as more than 35 million children were deprived of education and millions of children were dying due to a lack of clean water and hygienic food. He said the law and order situation across the country was in the worst condition and women and children were not safe. He condemned the rape and murder of Zainab in Punjab’s Kasur District and offered his condolences to the grieved family and all the families of children kidnapped and murdered, especially those in Kasur. He demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
