QILA DIDAR SINGH-People suffer as they are forced to buy timber and LPG at exorbitant prices due to prolonged gas loadshedding.
A survey report conducted by this correspondent reveals that gas supply remains suspended in Qila Didar Singh, Ladhewala Warraich and suburbs. The gas loadshedding has affected routine life of the people. Women are worst victim of suspension of the gas supply who are unable to cook three-time meals for their families. Worse yet, people are forced to buy timber and LPG as an alternative to Sui gas at exorbitant prices. Timber is being sold at Rs800 per 40kg and LPG at Rs150 per kg. Locals demanded Gujranwala Deputy Commissioner Sohail Ahmed Tipu take notice of the incident.
MILK DESTROYED
A team of Punjab Food Authority (PFA) caught a vehicle carrying 7,000 litres of spurious milk near Islam City, Ladhewala Warraich. The team disposed of the milk.
CHILD BURNT
A two-year-old boy sustained critical burns after falling into a hot water tub while playing in home at suburban village, Nawan Pind. He was identified as Owais, son of labourer Abdus Suboor. He was rushed to hospital for treatment.
THIEVES MAKE OFF WITH CASH,

Unidentified thieves stole electronic appliances and other valuables from two shops in the Qila Didar Singh police precincts here the other day. According to police, thieves broke into Shafiq Electric Store at Botala Jhanda Singh village and made off with a washing machine, electric motors, water pump and other electronic appliances with Rs250,000.
In another incident, thieves stole Rs25,000 from Khalid Karyana Store at Mauza Pilalpur. Similarly, thieves lifted motorbike of Barkatullah Sikhu parked outside the house. Police are investigating.
