KARACHI: The second day of Pakistan’s biggest and much anticipated food festival Karachi ‘Eat’ saw a large number of people attending it. Food lovers were seen in queues at the entrance waiting for their turn to get inside the venue of the festival.

A senior traffic official, Amjad Khan said, “Traffic snarls started from afternoon lasting till evening. The roads leading towards Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park were clogged due to barricading of the food festival venue. The organisers could have provided proper parking area so that we could manage things easily.”

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited the food festival and said that it was a great opportunity for the food enthusiasts of the city to come and enjoy in a peaceful environment.

Families passing through the road of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park had a tough time as the zone had massive traffic congestion. The fifth edition of the food festival saw noted personalities from different walks of life, including Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Bilawal said he was proud and happy that the festival with every passing year is growing and creating opportunity for aspiring chiefs and entrepreneurs to develop and grow.

When asked how he felt that the festival was held at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park, Bilawal said, “I feel really great that people are spending great time at this place. We are happy that it’s being held at this venue.”

Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair also visited the festival and said that holding of social and cultural events in the metropolis speaks of the improved law and order situation. The cast of upcoming film ‘Cake’ SanamSaeed, Aamina Sheikh and Adnan Malik came for the promotion of their film.

Hundreds of fans got a chance to directly interact with their beloved stars with surplus chances to take selfies and pictures with them. The stars gave away few hints about the film and did fun activities at Yum’s stall.

The highlight of the event was the performance of pop star Atif Aslam . Inside the venue, people from all walks of life waited patiently for the performance to start. Finally, the crowd broke into loud applause when Atif took the stage to perform. The happiness on the faces of the massive crowd was priceless. From start to finish, Atif’s performance captivated music lovers as he sang some of his famous tracks. The show ended with his popular hits songs.

Ayesha Khan, a student of Iqra University, said, “I am a very big fan of Atif. I was suffering from fever but when my friends came at my place and told me Atif is performing live. I got really excited and came at the food fest. It was always a memorable experience to watch him perform live. I brought a jacket for him, but couldn’t manage to hand it to him. I loved the way he sang Dil Diya Gallan.”
