LAHORE - Former premier Nawaz Sharif has said Pakistan and China are committed to completing CPEC and other development projects in time.
“Pak-China friendship is exemplary and I want to see it thriving with every passing day,” the former prime minister said, talking to Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing who called on him at Jati Umra yesterday. Nawaz Sharif said the CPEC will not only change the entire economic game in Pakistan but also in the region. He affirmed the project has begun to produce dividend which is a very good omen for economic prosperity of the country.
The Chinese envoy, speaking to the former PM, said Pakistan and China are iron friends. He stated China lauds Pakistan’s sacrifices against terrorism and its vital contribution to this war that has largely rooted out this scourge. Yao Jing said China stands by Pakistan under every circumstance.
On this occasion, Nawaz Sharif and the Chinese envoy put stress on enhancing mutual cooperation in different sectors of development besides CPEC.
The meeting held detailed discussion on the completion of CPEC. Nawaz Sharif congratulated Yao Jing on assuming new responsibilities in Pakistan on behalf of his country.
