RAWALPINDI: A project has been worked out to set up five new dispensaries in various areas under jurisdiction of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board.

According to reports, MNA Malik Ibrar will provide funds for the new dispensaries.  Two dispensaries will be set up in Choohr, one in Siham and one each in Dheri Hassanabad and Baraf Khana Chowk.

Land has been acquired for the dispensaries. Doctors, paramedical staff will also be inducted soon. These new dispensaries will be set up in the month of February, the report stated.

Meanwhile, tenders have been issued for 136 new development schemes worth over Rs750 million for 120 rural union councils of district Rawalpindi under Prime Minister Development Programme and Local Government Development Programme.

According to reports, these schemes include construction of streets, boundary walls of schools, laboratories, grave yards, link roads, bridges and water supply pipelines. The work on these schemes will start from the beginning of February and will be completed within 3 months, the report added.–Online
