KARACHI - Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has said that elected government of Pakistan Peoples Party is working under the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and manifesto of the party. It is the very responsibility of the government to implement the policies and programmes through official departments for which the heads of the departments are responsible to follow and implement schemes in letter and spirit. He stated this while chairing a meeting of administrative secretaries of various departments of Sindh government at the CM House here on Monday. He said that people of the province had been expecting a lot from elected government. He further maintained, We should deliver the best results to the people particularly the poor who had suffered a lot during the dictatorship. He stressed upon the departmental heads to observe punctuality, discipline, prompt performance, transparency and quality of works, adding that we must do all the possible things for the prosperity and welfare of the needy people. He added that it was needed serious efforts to be made to reduce ratio of un-employment by providing jobs in public and private sector. We being in government are answerable to Almighty Allah, people of Pakistan, people of Sindh and the leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party, Qaim added. He said that officers should take timely decisions on various issues and utilise the funds properly, with the hope that all the heads of the departments would resolve the public issues. He also directed Chairman Anti-Corruption Establishment to accelerate the performance his department and matters lying for decision should not be delayed without any cause. Mr Shah emphasized the need to have full attention on delivery and performance of all departments particularly the Education, Health, Agriculture, Industries and other departments. With regard to performance of health department, the CM said that it had been provided maximum funds but the overall result is yet awaited. He added that this year efforts were being made to improve Health facilities and District Headquarter hospitals and Rural Heath Centres will be improved and upgraded. Chief Minister added that provincial heads should be dedicated and courageous and they should deliver as per expectations of government and people. He directed the Chief Secretary Sindh to implement the scheme of compulsory education for the province and directives of government should be enforced. Earlier, Chief Secretary Sindh Fazal-ur-Rehman presented brief resume of performance and problems of various departments. He assured that all officers would devotedly work as per directives and instructions of the government to provide relief to the people.
