ISLAMABAD - Mohammad Riaz (BS-21/Pakistan Customs Service) on Friday has been appointed as new Member Customs in Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) replacing former member Mumtaz Haider Rizvi who went on official leaves till his retirement.
Federal Board of Revenue has issued notification stating, in pursuance of Board`s Notification No. 1536-M-I/2012, dated 13.07.2012 Mohammad Riaz (PCS/BS-21) assumed charge of the post of Member (Customs), Federal Board of Revenue (Hq), Islamabad w.e.f. 13.07.2012.
Mohammad Riaz was earlier working as Director General Intelligence and Customs and sources said that he would also keep this charge as additional one after assuming the charge of Member Customs.
Mohammad Riaz has replaced Mumtaz Haider Rizvi (BS-22 officer of Secretariat Group), who was also holding the charge of chairman FBR. However, Mumtaz Haider Rizvi on Wednesday relinquished the charge of the post of Chairman Federal Board of Revenue after government’s decision to appoint Ali Arshad Hakeem, former chairman NADRA, as new chief FBR.
Mumtaz Haider Rizvi would retire from his post on August 2 on reaching the age of 60, however he went on official leaves instead of working as Member Customs under the new chief FBR.
