Handicrafts, garments exhibition held

SAHIWAL - Commissioner Qazi Muhammad Ishfaq has said that homemade handicrafts and garments to be promoted through holding of exhibition.
He said this during inauguration ceremony of a exhibition at Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) under the auspices of its President Rana Waseem Akhtar here the other day.
Begum Commissioner Fatima Ishfaq Qureshi, Mrs Sonia Waseem, Ch Nafees Sadiq, Begum Nafees Sadiq, SCCI members including Ziaul Rehman Khan, Arshad Hussain, Sh Azmat Saleem and other office-bearers were also present on the occasion.
The exhibition was held with the objective to discover new markets for the homemade handicrafts. Commissioner and Begum Qazi Ishfaq urged to made new designs to promote Pakistani garments in the world.
They said that through skilful hands of women, these products have been displayed in the form of installation arts, becoming contemporary artwork.
They encouraged the women entrepreneurs for attaining economic freedom.
The items displayed at the exhibition included handmade garments, arts and crafts, home decor, and inlay, gems, jewellery, and decoration pieces. “We will encourage, build capacity, and improve visibility of women through close cooperation,” they said. President SCCI Rana Waseem Akhtar and other office-bearers assured for their every possible cooperation.
