KAMOKE - Majority of people rejected the amended contempt law and expressed their solidarity with the judiciary. They voiced their resentment against the law, and said they were ready to sacrifice their lives for the sake of the judiciary and Constitution. They added that the rulers had crossed all limits to for the achievement of their goals.
They said that the contempt law was against the holy Quran and Sunnah, and also in violation of the Constitution. They said that the amendment was aimed at granting immunity to the prime minister from appearing in the Supreme Court, and said even legal wizards such as Fakhrauddin G Ebrahim, Aitzaz Ahsan and Raza Rabbani had shown their reservations over the law.
They also regretted that parliamentarians, instead of resolving public issues, were busy in protecting their own vested interests.
