ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday directed the authorities to initiate a Heli Service from Gilgit to Attabad and to establish tour resort in order to promote tourism.

In an interview, Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Chaudhary Barjees Tahir said that the premiere was taking serious interest for the development of the area which would further promote tourism in the country by attracting foreign tourists.

Barjees said it had also been decided to set up a special task force consisting 1500 personnel for the protection of tourists. The minister said that the government would organise Silk Route Festival in the month of August.

He added, on the occasion of Silk Route Festival, that the ambassadors of all countries linked to Silk Road would be invited to attend the festival. He said, "We will tell the world that Pakistan is the safest place and there is no danger to tourists".

To a question, he said that the flour was being provided to the people of GB on Rs 11 per kilogram upon the demands of local action committee.
